  • Is my donation tax deductible? Yes. The Scott Community Foundation is a public charity, and donations are generally tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. We encourage donors to consult their tax advisor regarding their specific situation.

  • Can I donate to a specific scholarship or fund? Absolutely. Donors may choose to support a specific scholarship, fund, nonprofit, community project, or area of interest. Please indicate your designation when making your gift.

  • Can I make a recurring donation? Yes. Recurring gifts can be established through our online giving platform, allowing you to make a lasting impact through monthly, quarterly, or annual contributions.

  • How do I establish a fund? Establishing a fund is a meaningful way to support the causes you care about while creating a lasting legacy. Our team can help you determine the fund type that best fits your charitable goals and guide you through the process. Please call us and speak to Ryan about establishing a fund.

  • Can I donate property, land, or other assets? In many cases, yes. The Scott Community Foundation can work with donors and their professional advisors to explore charitable gifts beyond cash donations, including real estate, grain, stocks, and other assets. Please contact our office to discuss your giving options.

  • How do I include SCF in my estate plan? Many donors choose to leave a lasting legacy through a bequest, beneficiary designation, charitable trust, or other planned giving arrangement. We encourage you to work with your attorney or financial advisor and contact our office to discuss your charitable goals.
