Wishing You a Happy Holiday Season!

Letter from the Scott Community Foundation Director, Ryan Roberts

"Our community continues to amaze my staff and myself with its generosity and support."

As we celebrate our 22nd year at the Scott Community Foundation we have some time to reflect on the past year in our community. Even as our struggling economic times continue, Scott Community has once again stepped up for a record-breaking year of giving to assist with community projects, scholarships, and grants. Our community continues to amaze my staff and myself with its generosity and support.

Personally, the fullness of these experiences is beyond what I could have ever anticipated. I’ve called Scott my home for some time now and have been amazed by the depth and breadth of meaningful work and generosity happening these past 14 years as the Executive Director of your community foundation.

As we enter the holiday season, please keep those individuals who are struggling and those organizations who need support in your hearts and minds. If help or direction is needed with year-end donations, please do not hesitate to contact my staff or myself at Scott Community Foundation.

Remember your compassion, generosity, and creativity in supporting the Scott Community Foundation continues to help numerous non-profits, residents, and our schools.

Thank you again and Happy Holidays!

Ryan Roberts

Your Year in Review 2022

Looking back on 2022, it was a year full of milestones and achievements! With the support of Scott County and surrounding areas, the 6th Annual Giving Day raised over $175,315.00 allowing us to support local projects in and around our community.

The scholarship program is continuing to grow! In May, we were able to award over $121,750.00 to new graduates beginning their post-secondary experience while also continuing to support alumni as they continue their education.

This year marked the 11th Annual Dylan Spencer Family Walk. Run. Roll at Scott Lake. Former SCHS graduate, Brett Meyer, helped with this year's event by hosting the Hold Fast Running Camp for kids. The culminating event of this camp was participating in the run.

Golfing for Grants with Ron Baker as a host was held in July. Money generated from this event is used to fund future grants. The foundation awarded $60,566.24 in grants this year.

As 2022 is quickly ending, the Scott Community Foundation is looking forward to another exciting year!

Some of our upcoming, projects planned for 2023 include:

Partnering with Scott Recreation Commission for a new Sand Volleyball Pit that is located in Palmer Park. Construction is already underway and the Sand Volleyball Pit will be up and running very soon.

Scott Community Foundation is also excited to make our debut on Main Street! We are moving locations to 424 S. Main Street. More updates are to follow later.

Finally, we are working hard to add a donor portal to our website that will allow you to access your fund and make giving to the foundation even more convenient for you!

We are blessed and grateful to live in such a giving community that allows us as a Foundation to continue to support and grow this great community we live in! Thank you for your contributions to our community's success. Below are some of the pictures from our community projects, events, grants, and scholarships that your fund and donations directly supported this year.
